The internet has made almost everything easier for us. One of the things we love best about this development is that there are so many things we can now do from the comfort of our beds. But is there anything we miss? Let's try to find out.
#1 Amazon was not a store
What? If anyone asks about Amazon, 86% of the time you think about the famous e-commerce store. However, before the internet became a huge part of our lives, the only Amazon we knew was the river. And this shows you how much things have changed.
#2 You got your music from the radio
This may come as a surprise especially for today's teenagers, but before we had things like iTunes and Spotify, if you needed to get your favorite song, you had to record it from the radio.
Teenagers would never understand the stress of having to wait for your favorite song to come up on the station and quickly pressing the record button so you don't miss it. Believe us when we tell you that those were the real dark days.
#3 You had to leave your house to make friends
Today, so many of us have friends we met on social media. So many people meet their partners and future husbands and wives on social media or Tinder app. However, before social media was created, people had to leave the house to make friends.
It might be hard to understand the struggle of having to leave the house so often today, but it was such a common thing in the past.
#4 The answers to our questions could only be found in books
Before Google was invented, people spent time in the library searching for all the information they needed. The encyclopedias were in fashion too. Remember having to sit in the library all day searching for the definition of something and flipping through thousands of pages?
#5 Spiders were the only web designers
Don't blame us if you're a web designer, we are only messengers of the truth. Web design was not a profession most people knew about or considered. It didn't exist. Just in case you travel back in time, don't introduce yourself as a web designer.
#6 Social media posts were on real walls
If you needed to share information for everyone to see, you had to print the hard copy and paste them on an actual notice board on the wall. Imagine the struggle of walking from block to block just to post information. And what about times when your well-crafted posters get vandalized? Crazy!
#7 Multiplayer games included tables
You had to meet with your friends to play board games. Board games were really popular back then and those were the only multiplayer games available. Today we can play with our friends online and even find new friends from any part of the world while playing.
