I was fortunate to visit Ushiku Daibutsu in Japan in April this year. My hostess in Tokyo Himani Ved drove us there. It truly a divine experience. The place has beautiful garden. This is the biggest statue of Buddha in Bronze. We went to the top by elevator. There is viewing gallery
On the top. We could see Mount Fuji from there. It was really once in a life time experience.

I’ve seen both the Great Buddha of Thailand and the Sendai Daikannon of Japan...both are impressive and in Japan you can see for miles from the top of the statue. The landscaping around both statues is impressive as well.

Very interesting. The statue of "Christ The Redeemer" is tiny in comparison..... being less than 40 metres. I have been fortunate to visit beautiful Thailand and see the Great Buddha.

It's sad that alot of these statues could be removed or destroyed with todays religious or political or social views.

Mac Stoodley, Not true, all those are budhha's statue except the last one. Buddhists are not insecure ppl. They don't brag about their religion or anything about them. What ever you said, it is just opposite of their belief.
